REST AT OUR PLACE

WELCOME TO
THE OLD LIBRARY

The Old Library is a place full of history...

Established in 1892 as the suburban residence of chocolate manufacturer Oswald Püschel, it was originally designed as a villa with a beautiful garden, including a representative area near the building and a fruit garden.

In the 1930s, the property became the possession of the Evangelical Church. The Deaconess Order Bethany was headquartered there, and alongside the residential area, there were also school halls. Before the war, a music school, church archives, and a library with a lending section operated on the premises.

After the war, it was transformed into the library of the Medical Academy. This function is what most people in Wrocław associate with this building. Many students spent hours studying for exams in the main reading room, where we now organize meetings and conferences. The building evokes many positive emotions, and many doctors and pharmacists return here to reminisce about their youth. Honoring the role this building played for many years, we named it the Old Library.

Currently, this over-a-century-old beautiful villa is planned to become a small guesthouse with fifteen rooms, combining commercial and social values, fulfilling educational and scientific tasks – students from the vocational school for youth with disabilities run by the evangelicals will practice here.

The facility has 15 rooms decorated in a tranquil bottle-green tone, and for the Library's guests, we have convenient parking spaces on the property. In the restaurant, we organize family gatherings, weddings, conferences, and banquets. The restaurant is open every day except Mondays.

You are warmly invited!

WEDDINGS AT THE OLD LIBRARY

We host full-scale receptions lasting twelve hours, as well as wedding events for three, six, or eight hours. Ceremonies can take place in the garden, and we have a tent prepared for weddings in case of unfavorable weather.

Our halls aren't conventional grand ballrooms, allowing for more intimate conversations during the wedding while still providing ample space for enjoyment and dancing. Our greatest asset is, of course, the garden, providing a serene environment for strolls along our paths, relaxation, and moments of respite.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS AT THE OLD LIBRARY

If you're seeking a tranquil place with a garden, yet close to the city, our Old Library is the perfect choice. We have a total of 5 halls that can be designated for such events. Each hall accommodates a different number of guests, but each one is unique. Before making a reservation, we invite you to visit and explore the space.

Communion gatherings typically last 5-6 hours, and our package includes a meal with a choice of meats, a coffee break, beverages, homemade cakes, dessert, and a cold buffet towards the end for when hunger strikes.

THE TOWER OF THE OLD LIBRARY

A distinctive feature of the building is the tower that rises into the sky. In reality, it's a small space that we offer to our guests as a relaxation room, a place for contemplation, and for photo sessions. This is a public area, with access on the second floor. It's worth stopping by during your stay at our facility to enjoy a beautiful view from above of the garden and surrounding houses.
